Through negotiations with Manitoba Health, Doctors Manitoba has established and administers a program that provides physicians with reimbursement for Continuing Medical Education expenses that they may incur.
For the 2016 calendar year eligible physicians may receive up to $3,500 in reimbursement for eligible CME expenses.
This program is available to all physicians who generate fee for service income within a given calendar year. Residents who hold a full license to practice may be eligible for a CME rebate if they also “moonlight” to earn fee-for-service income and incur CME expenses not related to completion of their Residency program.
The program covers expenses such as CME registration fees, accommodation and meals, medical educational materials and limited internet provider and computer hardware expenses.
Claim forms are sent out to fee-for-service physicians on an annual basis in early April.
The Deadline for receipt of claims for the 2016 year will be June 12, 2017.
REBATES WILL BE MAILED TO PHYSICIANS IN JULY OF EACH YEAR. CHEQUES WILL BE ISSUED IN THE NAME OF THE CLAIMANT.
